We are now reading The Taming of the Shrew. I am not sure I agree with it because I never thought any kind of mutual relat ionship should be that way. The Two Gentleman of Verona is about the invisible Silvia of whom everyone is blind to and Julia the authentic woman of Proteus. Valentine and Proteus are the same man. It is not hard to read it this way. Why is Silvia so ephemeral?? Why is Julia so concerned. Why is Valentine willing to give Silvia to Proteus?? Same man? Two woman or same woman in two different forms; spirit and flesh? Is this a play about the spiritual Jeanine I have seen at 11 years old on her 23 year old porch and follows me around invisibly in the spirit??
For a preliminary Shakespeare class, we are also reading some plays from Drama of the English Renaissance I: The Tudor Period. These are plays before preceding Shakespeare's plays. The one play you might be interested in reading is Gorboduc. Astrology shifts back and forth over the three outside planets in the Solar System, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. These are generational influences.
In World War II., Neptune first travelled through Scorpio. The black hole over the center of the Milky Way Galaxy is located where my Point of Fortune is opposition my Sun over the Pleaides Supernova cluster in the first deacon of Sagitarius. The 100 million light year shaft of galaxies at the beginning of the creation of the Universe out of a growing vacuum is also in Sagitarius. The Point of Fortune is the combined mathematics of the person's Sun, Moon, and Ascendant. It is the most comprehensive self. The Ascendant is where the Universe rises on the horizon.
Adoph was born with a Uranus in Scorpio. These children are now in college in 1998, but it is no big deal. Neptune preceded Uranus through Scorpio between 1957-1970 when I graduated from highschool. Uranus moved through Scorpio from 1974-1981. Pluto moved through Scorpio from 1985-1988-90.
The beginning shocking into gas bubble of vacuum began growing in Sagitarius billions of years ago. This is somewhere in Sagitarius out side of the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. Pluto went through this first deacon of Sagitarius in 1988-93. That is when I entered Jeanine's life. Our charts are tied. Jeanine's boyfriend is an Aquarius. He has a Jupiter/Mars/Neptune conjunction in the first deacon of Sagitarius. That is where my Point of Fortune is. Jeanine has a Neptune there, but it is a small generation influence. I have 12 Stars of David over my birthplace when I was born. I Am YHWH or Yod. We all are the Milky Way harvest children. My Mars in the first deacon of Scorpio is always being challenged and spit upon. I view this, now, as all tongue-in-cheek and naturally there. Uranus in Scorpio is the worst. I don't blame the incorporeal, now. Don't worry about my Close to the Edge and the Wrath of God. I lost it there, but have recovered. I will leave it on even though it is somewhat abusive. I have been theoretically abandoned here absolutely alone and very tense about it. Every little irritating thing builds up. I am four times Taurus and therefore am usually very patient. In fact my patience tries other people's patience. Jeanine is also four times Taurus. We are dense.
Now we are reading The Tragedy of King Richard the Second. I believe that he is misportrayed by Shakespeare as are others, especially Bollingbroke.
John of Gaunt is portrayed by Shakespeare as a good hearted man, Bollingbroke as a strong hearted man. I will quote from The Making of England by C. Warren Hollister:
Shakespeare portrays Bollingbroke or Henry IV. as a dashing hero and Richard II. and his wife Isabella as flowery inept fools. Read Lacey Baldwin Smith. Richard was being ganged up upon by the wealthiest magnates in Great Britain after visibly supporting the Peasant's Rebellion. He did not support either side, but what he did eventually led to economic freedom for the poor in Great Britain. Richard was not a selfish man. Even in Shakepeare, he is compared to Christ.
Whenever one reads someone portraying anything, one has to note the quality of the character and the motivational factors bearing on the character portraying another person or an event, especially is that person is dead.
In Shakespeare's play, John of Gaunt was King Richard's biggest detractor. Do you trust John? Do you trust history in the hands of Shakespeare? Do you trust anyone's portrayal in the hands of another person.
The Lords Appellant seemed to have just gotten a load of their collective wealth and were deliberately trying to run King Richard II. down and steal his power, money, authority, and throne. Eventually they murdered him.
In 1972-73 I found out about a woman named Sue Richmond. I remember her face and she looked just like Queen Elizabeth.

A short paragraph at the top of page 125, the fifth paragraph of Chapter XXXII caught my attention and I began to think of my Grandfather and Grandmother on my mother's side of the family and how they worked for no less than 16 hours per day every day from dawn until dusk for thirty years to pay off the bills and debt of some of the farmers in the area that owed my Great Grandfather after he had loaned them some of the necessities just before the stock market crash of 1929.
After my Grandfather had finally signed the papers which announced the final payment on the overwhelming debt, only one of the many farmers who owned a debt of gratitude to both my Grandfather and Grandmother actually came up and shook my Grandfather's hand in church that same week. Stunningly real as a sketch isn't it?.
But all was not a complete waste of time and effort. My Grandparents had become tireless laborers and continued, with a slight easing of their work customs, to build and build onto their small rooming house, bought out several neighbor's buildings, and turned The Thompson House into a ten-million dollar resort sitting next to a golf course and one of the finest places for city people or anyone else to go in the Catskill Mountains of New York to vacation or just relax.
The thing that truly irked me about "the old sly farmer" in the paragraph who was making a profit, as was Mr. Skinner, by selling and buying wheat and corn with the rotten bank notes, is that the wily farmers that were, here, outwitting the rotten men from the government and the bank, were, in my Grandfather's case, using their wits just like the bankers and the government people. They were leaving their debt to others and profitting off of other's foolishness, foolhardiness, or strictly selfish and evil motives. In this paragraph, Kirkland turns them into heroes. But just how ethical are their actions in reality?? Aren't they, too, profiting, in the same way, off of the same organization that is stealing from the poor and the innocent?? There is choice in this situation, as anyone might be able to decipher.
Other things that made me think poorly of the people here are the actions or inactions of the banking commissioners and, particularly, the government and president who were all supposed to govern their behavior and protect the public. The President at that time was Andrew Jackson, the Democratic, Southern hero of the War of 1812 and the battle of New Orleans. The interesting thing here is that he was the last Revolutionary President and the first Southerner to be given the Presidency. I capitalize president and presidency because I think the small letter must be some kind of political ploy to diminish the office, diminish people's fears of power, make the president seem humble and non-threatening and is just another political prank.
It seems to me that the forefathers of our country would have been ashamed of the conducting of our government's business during this period of time. I believe it had also occurred to Caroline Kirkland because she went back to the East and then to Washington, D.C. to do a detailed analysis of George Washington after what she had experienced of the utter lawlessness beyond the law maintained by the people themselves in the new country being populated by and stolen from the poor settlers and their families by the banks, the government, and the evil land speculators. Perhaps good government fell after the last Revolutionary President??
