I believe they had discussed their plans with Marilyn Monroe. I heard a report that she had been sleeping with them and was planning on calling a press conference and releasing the whole plan. It involved exposing the real head of the C.I.A.

It is Very clear to me in that tape that the security guards were standing close by and Sirhan Sirhan was allowed to absolutely lunge right up close with his gun and shoot Robert in the head or neck. I am not even sure if that was what killed him. He may have actually been murdered later. John also.
There were other men over on the grassy knoll in John's case and from the way his head suddenly jerked back, that is where the bullet came from.
